The Sydney Ice Dogs are proud to announce the signing of American forward Brady Heppner from the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the SPHL. After recent news of Import Stefan Fournier unable to make this season in time due to a long playoff run and recovery of an upper body injury, Ice Dogs coach Jason Kvisle jumped into action.
"Brady comes to the Ice Dogs with a wealth of experience across Junior A, College and Pro. We look forward to seeing him in a Dogs uniform very soon. We believe his style and resume could translate well in the AIHL." says Kvisle.
In 94 SPHL games for the Rail Yard Dawgs, Heppner has notched 29 goals and 37 helpers for 66 points. Prior to joining the SPHL, Heppner led his college team SJU in scoring in his final two seasons amassing 82 points in 99 games.
At 5'10" Heppner is a solid two way forward with the ability to play both centre and wing, giving the Ice Dogs depth upfront and a few different options. When he isn't helping on the scoresheet he is solid in defence. Before college Heppner played for the Minnesota Magicians in the NAHL for two seasons where he potted 16 goals and 22 assists in 60 games.
Heppner lands Friday and should be ready to help the team for this upcoming road trip to Melbourne.
