Ice Dogs Sign Goalie Charlie Smart The Reach Crane Trucks Sydney Ice Dogs are delighted to announce the signing of Goalkeeper Charlie Smart for the 2016 Season. Smart played last season for the Adelaide Adrenaline where he had a save percentage of .894 – outstanding especially given his young age. He has also sought out a broad range of experiences overseas, most recently playing with the Bozeman Ice Dogs in Montana. Smart was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament and Best Save percentage at the World Under 20 Division II B Championships held in Spain in 2015. He will be representing his country again in the upcoming Division II World Championships held in Mexico, this time for the full Australian national team. Fans will be excited by his arrival at the kennel, and Smart himself is excited by the prospect of linking up with his new teammates. He stated "I am really looking forward to being a part of the turnaround at the Ice Dogs this season. It will be a big year and can't wait to get started". General Manager Jason Juba added “I like what Charlie brings to the table, we were elated when he committed to the dogs and his belief in what our organisation is looking to achieve. Between Charlie and Jake (Burgess), we are extremely excited to have a young tandem in net who will be such an important part of the future of Australian Ice Hockey” |
