The Ice Dogs return to action at home this Saturday night, facing the Melbourne Mustangs for the third time this season.

Sydney hasn't played since a 4-2 win last Saturday night against the third placed CBR Brave. Strat Allen, Scott Stephenson, Stephen Johnston and Grant Toulmin all scored on the night and Damien Ketlo made 36 saves.

All time: 12-10-1-1 (7-3-1-0 at home; 5-7-0-1 on the road)

The last time the two teams met Sydney defeated the Mustangs by a score of 5-1. Sydney has won 13 of the 24 contests against the Mustangs since the first time the two teams met on April 24^th 2011. The Ice Dogs rank fifth in the league and a win over the fourth placed Mustangs is crucial in the pursuit of a playoff spot.

Since the Mustangs founding in 2001, the Ice Dogs have only given up 3 losses on home territory, winning 8 of their 11 home games. The Ice Dogs have also won 5 of their 10 home games this season, including 4 of the 6 home games they have played since the beginning of June.

• Grant Toulmin has registered 20 points over the past 10 games including 20 goals and a hat trick. He heads the Ice Dogs in goals (20) and points (37) this season. In addition, the forward ranks 11th in points amassed and ties 1^st in goals scored in the league this season. Toulmin also registered 5 points (1G, 4A) last weekend against the Bears and Brave.
   
• Damien Ketlo has posted a 10-13-0 record, along with a 2.67 goals against average (GAA), a 0.924 save percentage (SV%), and 2 shutouts in 23 games in 2017. His play against the CBR Brave last Saturday was outstanding, as he continues to be one of, if not the best, goalies in the league.   
   
• Captain Scott Stephenson registered two important goals last weekend to continue his strong play and teamwork.

Following Saturday’s game, the Ice Dogs will play the Mustangs for a final time on August 27^th.

After this weekend, the next time the Ice Dogs play at home will be when they take on the Ice on the 19^th of August and then the Brave the following night.
