The Sydney Ice Dogs are proud to announce the signing of highly experienced AIHL import, Geordie Wudrick. AIHL fans will recognize Wudrick as one of the most prolific scorers in recent memory. The LA Kings 2008 draft pick entered the league in 2015 with a record setting season where he scored 44 goals and 91 points and set the current AIHL benchmarks for single season tallies. That year he was also part of the Goodall Cup winning Newcastle Northstars, coincidentally under new Ice Dogs Head Coach, Andrew Petrie. Asked about his motivation to join the Ice Dogs, Wudrick said, “Having Coach Petrie at the club definitely has a lot to do with it. We won a cup together in 2015. I love his methods and we share a passion for winning.” Wudrick gives the impression he is genuinely excited to be coming to the Ice Dogs, saying he feels “privileged to be coming to such a beautiful city and to be joining a such a competitive team that has a realistic chance to battle for the Goodall Cup.” Wudrick has just one goal for the 2018 season, ‘I just want to help win that Goodall Cup, I want to share that experience with my new teammates.” Wudrick is expected to arrive in Australia in time to meet his new teammates and prepare for the Home Opener April 21st against the Newcastle Northstars.
