The Sydney Ice Dogs are excited to announce the signing of forward Bryan Kolodziejczyk to the team for the 2018 season.

The Belgian-Canadian is currently playing in Brest, France for his second consecutive season. In 26 games during the 2017-18 season, the centreman registered a total 45 points for 16 goals and 29 assists. He finished out the season by leading the league in assists and registering 22 penalty minutes and a plus minus of +24.

Kolodziejczyk has helped lead his team to the playoffs each year since since joining the club, registering a total of 16 points (5 goals, 11 assists) in 23 games over the span of two seasons.

Before moving to France, the forward played pro hockey in the Netherlands for the HYC Herentals in the BeNeLiga (previously Eredivisie), winning the BeNeLiga championship during the 2015-16 season.

The 183cm, 77 kg skater has represented Belgium at the World Junior Championships and the World Championships from 2007, winning Gold for his country in 2012, Silver in 2015, 2013 and 2009 and Bronze in 2016 and 2010.
He acted as an alternate captain in the World Championships (D2A) for Belgium in 2017 and 2016, and was acknowledged as the top player on the team in 2015.

Coach Andrew Petrie, who has been in contact with Kolodziejczyk, has high expectations for the skater. “Bryan is a gifted play-making centreman with an elite-level passing game and a dedication to playing both ends of the ice” says Petrie. “He’s serious about his career, and he’ll be a great addition to our locker-room. I see him racking up a lot of assists this season by setting-up our shooting forwards.”

On the ice Kolodziejczak says that fans can expect to see a playmaking centreman. “I like to use my speed and vision on the ice to make plays and set up my linemates. I will do my best every time I am out there to help the team win.”

Kolodziejczyk is looking forward to playing in the AIHL - “I think the Ice Dogs will be a competitive team with a great group of guys from what I have heard. I am excited to arrive in Sydney and looking forward to meeting the guys as we compete for the Cup.”

Off the ice the 26 year-old hasn’t thought too much about what he will do yet but knows Sydney will have lots in store for him to see. However, “one thing I am not looking forward to is driving on the left side or the road” says Kolodziejczyk.
