Week Ahead: Dogs vs Ice and Thunder
Tuesday, June 19, 2018 - Submitted by Juno Tsalis

After a successful weekend on the road, The Sydney Ice Dogs have another busy weekend ahead of them. The team will face the Melbourne Ice on Saturday followed by the Perth Thunder on Sunday night. The Ice Dogs are looking to keep on top of the standings and take home all six points on offer.

ICE DOGS VS. ICE

All-Time: 15-33-8-1 (8-14-4-0 at home; 7-19-4-1 on the road)

Saturday's game is the second of four meetings between the Ice Dogs and Ice. The first time the two teams met this season, on June 17th, the Ice Dogs took down the Ice in a shootout in an epic comeback win by a score of 4-3. The Melbourne Ice have not won a game since their 4-3 shootout win on the 6th of May against the Adelaide Adrenaline and have been outscored by their opponents 29 to 17 since that win.

ICE DOGS VS. THUNDER

All-Time: 10-14-0-0 (5-6-0-0 at home; 5-8-0-0 on the road)

Sunday's game will be the third meeting between the Ice Dogs and Thunder, and the first of two meetings between the teams at O’Brien Group Arena. The Ice Dogs defeated the Mustangs, 3-1, in their first meeting of the season on May 12th at Perth Ice Arena but ultimately fell to the same team the following night. Todd Stephenson and Grant Toulmin have both registered at least two goals thus far in the season series, and players Geordie Wudrick, Todd Stephenson, Grant Toulmin and Dave Dunwoodie have all registered at least two points.
