Billy Cliff will once again wear Ice Dogs colours as the team has acquired the forward from the Sydney Bears after playing with them for just a season.  

Cliff, 24, has skated in 168 career AIHL games over parts of eight seasons with the Dogs and the Bears, registering 45 goals and 51 assists for 96 points, along with 361 penalty minutes.

He first debuted in the AIHL with Ice Dogs in 2008 at the age of 15.

The 182cm, 85 kg forward has recorded at least 10 points in a season five times in his career, establishing career-highs in goals (17), assists (12), and points (29) with the Dogs in the 2012 season. Cliff has skated in 6 career postseason games, registering a critical goal in the 2013 Goodall Cup final.

The Sydney, Australia native represented his country in 14 World Junior Championship games from 2008-2011 registering 20 points, and the Men’s World Championships (D2|A) in 2013 and 2014 registering six points (two goals, four assists) in 10 games. Cliff is currently away on another tour of duty with the Men’s National Team.

What I like about Billy is he finishes his checks, is highly skilled around the net and despite his boxing ability he has really soft hands and will add point production when it’s needed. We are all glad he is home with the Doggies where he belongs.”

Cliff will play in the upcoming 2017 AIHL season, beginning April 22^nd at the Macquarie Ice Rink against the Sydney Bears.
