The Sydney Ice Dogs are proud to announce the signing of 28-year-old forward David Upton.
The Sydney, Australia native has previously spent 9 seasons in the AIHL, last playing in 2013 with the Newcastle North Stars before taking a break.
Since joining in 2005, the 6'0" and 91kg forward has skated in 162 career AIHL games, netting 71 goals and 94 assists for 165 points and 319 penalty minutes.
Upton has represented Australia in the World Junior Championships (2006, 2007) and the World Championships (2009, 2011), winning gold for Australia in the World Championships (D2|A) in 2011.
“Being the amazing community that Australian Ice Hockey is, everyone is warmly welcomed back... I honestly have no idea what the season has in store and what I can contribute to the team, all I do know is that I am happy to be back playing with the guys and look forward to doing it in the Ice Dogs colours” says Upton.
