After a tough weekend the Dogs will fight back when they take on the Bears in the battle for Sydney on June 10^th, in just under 2 weeks.
The Bears allowed 13 goals against them in their two losses to the Mustangs last weekend but sit one position above the Dogs on the ladder with 13 points over 10 games. The Dogs have registered 12 points in nine games and a win will push them ahead in league standings.

The last time the two teams faced each other the Dogs dominated the game and took home a 1-0 win. Newly signed Canadian goalie Damien Ketlo dazzled in his debut, making 19 saves for his first AIHL shutout.

The Dogs have won 12 of the past 17 games against the Bears, dating back to April 27^th 2013 and have won 34 of the 57 contests since the club’s founding in 2002.

Players to Watch
Rory Rawlyk has registered 3 goals and has 2 assists in the past three games he’s played. The Canadian import is 4^th in the league in goals scored by a defenseman and ties 3^rd in the league in power play goals scored this season. The NHL draft pick has amassed four goals and has eight assists in the seven games he’s played for the Ice Dogs and looks to add to this against the Bears.

Damien Ketlo is one of only two goaltenders in the league to record a shutout this season - and it came in the first derby against the Bears. As of May 29^th 2017 he has the second highest save percentage of a goaltender who has played a minimum of five games at 0.928 and has allowed the third fewest goals against average at 2.68 by a goaltender who has played a minimum of two games. The Canadian import also just completed his 303^nd career game and has made the most saves by any goaltender in the AIHL with 309.

Following the June 10^th contest, the Ice Dogs and Bears will play against each other on the following dates: Jul. 15, Aug. 6.
