The Sydney Ice Dogs are proud to be sending five skaters to the 2019 AIHL All Star game. The year’s event is being hosted at the ICC in Darling Harbour on Saturday afternoon, and will be the curtain raiser for the annual USA v Canada Classic!
Here is a quick look at your 2019 Ice Dogs All-Stars!
Dylan Quaile
The hulking Canadian has been a revelation for Ice Dogs in 2019. The smooth skating, offensively minded defenseman has been putting up serious numbers from the blue line. His 27 points (9 Goals, 18 Assists) ranks him third among all AIHL scoring leaders and ranks his number 1 as defenseman at the halfway mark of the season.
Paul Crowder
Is it a bird? Is it plane? No - It’s probably just one of the Crowder Brothers flying by! The dynamic duo have bought their scoring touch to Sydney and home fans love it! Paul has played one more game than his brother Tim, recording23 points (5 Goal, 18 Assists), ranking him sixth among All AIHL scoring leaders.
Tim Crowder
Tim is quickly establishing a name for himself as an elite goal scoring threat in the AIHL. He leads the Ice Dogs with 11 goals. He’s also proven to be a difference maker in penalty shoot outs, scoring 3 times in a five round shootout against the Mustangs earlier year.
Ellesse Carini
The young Australian speedster has continued to develop into a dynamic forward who can play a full 200 ft game. Bouncing back from a hand injury he suffered at the end of last season, Carini hit the ground running this year, suiting up for his fourth season with the club.
James Marino
Another young Aussie star on the rise, Marino is in his fourth season with Ice Dogs. Known for his physicality and smooth passing, the feisty forward is quickly becoming a fan favourite on and off the ice.
The AIHL - All Stars Game
This year the 2019 AIHL All Star Game will be hosted at the ICC in Sydney on Saturday 15th June. The best players from around the league will come together in a brand new format. Players from the Newcastle Northstars, Sydney Ice Dogs, Sydney Bears and Canberra Brave will make up the North team.
Players from the Melbourne Ice, Melbourne Mustangs, Adelaide Adrenaline and Perth Thunder will make up the South team. This will start a new format and rivalry for many years to come to make our All Star game a more exciting and competitive game than ever.
